Father's Day Weekend at the Cabin

Sunday we packed everything up, cleaned the cabin, & then headed off for our last adventure of the weekend.
We went to Snoqualmie to ride the train, walked around the old trainyard at the Railway Museum & then went to view Snoqaulmie Falls before heading home.
Saturday we really relaxed around the cabin. We played games, had great food & then later went to Roslyn & Ronald for a little while.

Friday we went to Ellensburg & stopped at the great Produce stands along the way...

We got the Jeep all packed & headed up to the cabin late Thursday night...

Saturday 6/11 - Wed 6/15

Freckles loves to lay in the sun on the back deck...

The Strawberry & mint patch is really growing...

Hayleigh is usually a very cautious little girl, but Monday she was at the park swinging & decided to jump off the swings as high as she could. She fell & sprained her elbow...

I was released from Primary & Webelos Sunday after serving there only 4 1/2 months. I'm sad to leave my kids, but excited about my new calling as 1st Counselor in the YW presidency...

We took Olivia & the neighbor kids to the Lowes Build & Grow Clinic Saturday. It was a "Goofy Golf" project. The kids always love to put on their aprons & hammer away...

Wed 6/8 - Fri 6/10

Our whole family loves to "create" new masterpieces in the kitchen. You'll see lots of pictures of fun desserts, beautiful dinners, kids cooking, etc. Every year DJ donates one of our specialties for a charity dessert auction. This year it's Honey Coconut cakes with Mango Cream Cheese Glaze. I hope they are money makers...

I babysat Hannah & Olivia yesterday. They had so much fun together, but of course they had to start the day in the bathroom brushing their teeth & hair...

"Matryoshka" are Russian wooden dolls with smaller dolls stacked within the bigger ones. The most traditional design is one that looks like a young Russian woman dressed in Russian native costume with a scarf on her head.
I've always loved Matryoshka dolls & remember as a very young child, playing with my Grandmother's dolls when I visited her. I saw a few products that I'd love to add to my collection...

Wed 6/1 - Tues 6/7

Here's a week of photos...
TUESDAY - The color orange is one of my "feel good" colors. I love paisley & have a really nice bedspread in a warm green paisley. I wanted a punch of color & hoped to find a way to add Orange to my room. DJ found these great pillow shams & gave them to me for Christmas. I'm amazed how perfectly they harmonize...

MONDAY - Annie got her hair cut. She had about 15" cut off to get this cute new style...

SUNDAY - Amy & Ashley joined us for Sunday dinner this week. The girls all had so much fun playing together...

SATURDAY - I woke up early this morning to a beautiful, sunny day. Everyone else was off doing something else, so Heather & I went out to see what we could do. We went for a walk on the Promenade & stumbled upon this outdoor hotshop set up at the Museum of Glass...

FRIDAY - I ran errands with Annie all day today. It was quite busy, but it was nice spending time with her & the girls. We did some shopping for the girls & wound up with this new little church outfit for Hayleigh...

THURSDAY - DINNER FROM LAST NIGHT'S LEFTOVERS:

WEDNESDAY - PINEWOOD DERBY: I'm the Skyline ward Webelos scout leader. Last year there were 5 boys participating in the Pinewood Derby, this year we had 13!

Memorial Day Weekend

Emily & the kids were down this weekend & we all had such a good time! It's hard to post just 1 pic per day! My facebook album has 135 pics, so you will have to go there to see all of them: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1894823184657.105031.1663904266

Saturday we had an adventure in Seattle. We started out with shopping & lunch at SouthCenter mall, then DJ took us to Kerry Park overlooking downtown Seattle, then to the Waterfront, dinner at Marrakesh Moroccan restaurant & then walked back through Pike Place Market & the hill climb. The picture is dark & grainy, but it's of all of us at dinner...

Sunday started with blueberry pancakes & eggs for breakfast, then afternoon BBQ at Pt Defiance.

Emily & the kids went home after a big breakfast Monday morning. We all lounged around most of the day until dinner when we roasted hot dogs, corn on the cob & marshmallows over the fire out in the garden.

Back to work & reality on Tuesday morning. No good job postings on craigslist today as I am still unemployed. UGH!

Wed/Thurs

It was sunny & nice out this morning so Katie & I decided to go to the Farmers Market. There was rain in the forecast, so we took coats just in case.  We parked at the Tacoma Dome & took the link there & it started to pour just as we got off the link. YUCK!

Yesterday was shopping day so I've attached my Costco receipt.  This was just a small trip, not a very good example of my "normal" stock up trips there.
